Katie had previously played for Charlton, Bristol Academy and Lincoln City and has been capped at England Under 17, 19, and U23s level, as well as being involved with the senior squad.

New Manager Rick Passmoor said: “I am looking forward to working with Katie. When I joined Leeds we identified areas that needed strengthening and therefore, we targeted certain players.

"Katie was one of these players. She is strong, athletic and a good box to box midfield player. Although still young she has a few years experience of playing at the top level and is hungry to be successful, to improve and learn.

Katie added: “I was happy at Charlton and had no intention of leaving but when the women’s team was dropped I had to look around for a new club.

"I took plenty of time to meet with other clubs, to hear their plans and what the manager would want from me. After speaking with Rick and Leanne [Hall] about their plans for the team over the next few years and how they thought they could make me a better player, it sounded just the challenge I needed.

"I wanted to join a club with a future and one which could be challenging for trophies and speaking
with Mel Vauvelle [the Chairperson] I found that Leeds United Ladies have some big announcements to make soon, which show how ambitious the club are.

"It also means I will be able to train regularly with my club side without too much travelling. My ultimate goal is to win things and push my way into the full England squad and playing for Leeds should give me every opportunity to do that.”

Fellow former Addick Natasha Hughes continued the exodus from The Valley, joining Doncaster Rovers Belles last week.
