| Chelsea v Doncaster Rovers Belles: Highlights |
| Doncaster's Ellie Gilliatt talks through the action in her side's 2-1 win against Chelsea. |
Chelsea Ladies manager George Michaelas admitted his job is on the line after watching his side lose 2-1 to Doncaster Rovers Belles in the Nationwide Women's Premier League.
Scottish international Pauline Hamill opened the scoring for Rovers and Ellie Gilliatt restored their advantage two minutes after Chelsea’s 16-year-old starlet Ellen White had equalised.
"I was told if we didn't win this then they'd bring in a new face so I'm just waiting for a phone call," said Michaelas, who guided Chelsea into the Premier League for the first time in their history last season.
The result leaves Chelsea bottom with just one point after six matches.
At the other end of the table, Everton took over at the top thanks to a 3-0 victory over Sunderland.
England international Fara Williams broke the deadlock just before half-time, although the Sunderland players were convinced that she had handled the ball and Karen Scorer was sent off for dissent in the aftermath.
Williams added her second after Chantelle Perry had doubled Everton’s lead to put the Merseysiders a point ahead of former leaders Arsenal, whose match against Birmingham was postponed due to UEFA Cup commitments.
Charlton Ladies went third after beating Fulham Ladies with Casey Stone opening the scoring from the spot before Jo Potter extended their lead, with Jodian Clarke scoring a consolation for the visitors.
Leeds United drew 2-2 with Bristol Academy, who went ahead through Katie Holtham before Jess Clarke equalised. Tara Kidwell put Bristol ahead soon after half-time before Karen Walker earned Leeds a share of the points.
Nottingham Forest Ladies took over at the top of the FA Nationwide Women’s Northern Division with a 2-1 victory over Liverpool Ladies with Natalie Clark scoring twice after Jade Thomas had given the home side the lead.
Blackburn Ladies are third while Middlesbrough Ladies remain bottom after losing 4-2 at home to fellow strugglers Oldham Curzon.
Watford Ladies crushed Southampton Saints 4-0 to remain top of the FA Nationwide Women’s Southern Division thanks to goals from Miranda Hall, Helen Lander (2) and Tanya Beverley.
Portsmouth Ladies are behind them on goal difference after a 3-1 victory over Langford Ladies with Reading Royals just a point further adrift in third despite losing 2-1 against Crystal Palace Ladies. At the bottom, West Ham Ladies are still waiting to record their first win of the season after a -0- draw with Cardiff Ladies.
