Two superb second-half strikes from Carmaine Walker saw Charlton come from behind to maintain their place at the top of the table and inflict Fulham’s first league defeat in 53 games.

Fulham went ahead on 23 minutes, the Addicks losing concentration and being punished by Tammy Waine. Five minutes before the break, a clumsy challenge by Rachel Unitt on Walker brought a penalty, Walker got up to take the spot kick herself but it was superbly saved by Leanne Hall.

Danielle Murphy had to head off the line via the crossbar to stop the Cottagers doubling their lead, before the equaliser came on the hour. A quick Jo Broadhurst free-kick found Fara Williams unmarked and her well driven cross was volleyed home by Walker.

The winner came just six minutes from time, Ann-Marie Heatherson’s persistence paying off as her cross was swept home by Walker.

Leeds took the lead from a 29th minute Alex Culvin penalty against Arsenal but the Gunners took three vital points after Jayne Ludlow levelled just short of the hour mark and Julie Fleeting added a second.

Birmingham City took a ninth-minute lead at Bristol Rovers through Katy Ward, Karen Carney doubled the advantage shortly before half-time. Marcia Dean's reply for Rovers came just a minute from the end.

Jody Handley scored Doncaster Rovers Belles' winner against Everton in the 88th minute. The Toffees had led through ex-Belle Chantel Woodhead's 42nd minute goal, with Karen Walker equalising ten minutes into the second-half.

Chesterfield gave their Northern Division survival hopes a vital boost with victory at Bangor City, Christina Skull scoring the only goal.

Sheffield Wednesday improved their position at the expense of Manchester City, Beth Gingell, Jane Simpson, Sarah Smith and a Rachel Booker brace helping toward a 5-1 win.

Wolves climbed to sixth place with a well deserved victory over Middlesbrough. Goals from Kerrie Manley and a brace from skipper Anne Blackham saw the home side through. Emily Westwood set up Manley's opener with a powerful corner, Blackham chipped home a perfect free-kick for the second and profited from a Hayley Everiss pass to complete the scoring.

Bristol City gained a big bonus in the Southern Division promotion race, hitting hosts Barnet for six, whilst Southampton Saints hopes were tripped up by AFC Wimbledon.

Charlotte King scored both first-half goals before Abbie Gould, Katy Little, Angie Tinson and Lizzie Barratt got on the scoresheet. City are now four points behind the Saints but with three games in hand. Southampton's Sophie Kingsley-Smith netted on the hour but the Dons were already two ahead through Keisha Ramos and Maria Bertelli.

A weakened Enfield side failed to get to grips with a well drilled Brighton team, despite two early long range Kelly Townshend free-kicks which fully tested keeper Charlotte Sole.

Although Enfield's Danni Birkin cut out a ball into the box, it fell to Albion's Sophie Perry who gave keeper Jo Ayre no chance. Ayre later failed to collect a cross, allowing Emma Wood a simple header for 2-0. Perry added her second and Emma Mead pounced on a loose ball to wrap up the scoring at 4-0.

Langford defeated Portsmouth 3-1, despite a late scare when Angie Fisher pulled a goal back. Camilla Rae made sure with a last minute goal, adding two first-half strikes from Joanne Currie and Emma Wickham.

Kelly Campbell was on target again for Millwall but her one goal proved insufficient at Merthyr, where Laura Roberts hit an 86th minute equaliser for the relegation-threatened Martyrs.

Sam Jones claimed all three goals as Chelsea sunk Ipswich Town.
