Umbro Top Scorers Award - FA Premier League Northern Division Winner: Katy Ward (Birmingham City)

Katy joined Birmingham City in the summer after playing for neighbouring team Wolves and has been a revelation, leading the goalscoring charts for much of the season. A short, but quick forward, her best ability is running on to through balls and has volleyed into the net from all over the pitch this season. Her goalscoring has helped her team to the championship, as well as the Premier League Cup Final.

That is as well as helping to shoot England Under-19s to the European Championship semi-finals earlier this month. The striker is also one of the first intake at the FA scholarship at the National Player Development Centre at Loughborough University, which was launched in September 2001.

Umbro Top Scorers Award - FA Premier League Southern Division Winner: Marianne Pettersen (Fulham)

Marianne joined her club in January 2001, coming in as a seasoned international having won an Olympic gold medal for her home team Norway. She set the Southern Division alight this season as they stormed to the Southern Division title, banging in goals almost every weekend. She has scored more than 70 goals this season, but her team will have to learn to live without her next season as she has returned to Norway.

Unfortunately, Marianne could not be at the awards, so her award was picked up by one of her Fulham team-mates.

Umbro Top Scorers Award - FA Premier League National Division Winner: Marieanne Spacey (Arsenal)

Marieanne is one of the biggest names in the Women's game and beats one of her oldest rivals to the Top Scorer Award with 14 league goals this season. A former England international - she retired from international football following the 2001 European Championship finals, she approaches every game with 100 per cent commitment and has been a key contributor to the success that her club has achieved over the past decade.

It is yet to be seen whether she will be around next season to contend for the Top Scorer Award, as she will be deciding on whether to retire from the game in the summer.

The 'She Kicks' Media Award Winner: Lincoln City Ladies

She Kicks is the name for the relaunched On the Ball magazine who has been covering the women's game at all levels for 5 years. It's the oldest existing women's football magazine in the world and works closely with The FA as its official women's magazine. Their media award is for a club that has really worked to help raise the profile of the women's game. The award was presented by the Editor Jen O'Neil, herself a player at Sunderland.

The winning club, Lincoln City, are a great example of how obtaining local coverage can have a dramatic and positive effect on the girls' and women’s game. The team has attracted media exposure in their locality throughout the season, by capitalizing on the release of Bend It Like Beckham with the team appearing at their local cinema to attracting over 1,000 fans to two games at the men's league ground Sincil Bank. Collecting the award on behalf of Lincoln City Ladies was Rod Wilson.

The Umbro Young Player Of The Year Award Winner: Fara Williams (Charlton Athletic)

Fara Williams has always been tipped to do well ever since she joined her first club at the age of seven, but 2001-02 has certainly been her breakthrough season. She joined a National Division club in the summer, and has been a revelation in her first season in the top flight. She helped England Under-19s to qualify for last month's European Championship finals and then made the step up to the senior side making her debut at just 17 years old.

Fara scored a spectacular free-kick on her full senior debut and has become a popular member of the squad. The midfielder unfortunately missed the Under-19s finals and England's recent international with a stress fracture of her Metatarsal, but she'll be hoping to return to international action very soon.

The AXA Manager of the Year Award Winner: Mark Hodgson (Leeds United)

The award for Manager Of The Year was voted by all of the 34 Premier League clubs, so it is a big honour for the winner. Six seasons after taking charge of the team in the obscurity of the Yorkshire & Humberside League, Mark Hodgson took his side to an impressive fourth place finish in the National Division. After winning promotion last season, he managed to acquire several new players to boost his side's chances of staying up and achieved some impressive results over the season.

The Club Of The Year Award Winner: Birmingham City Ladies

This is a new award for this season to recognise the achievements of a team over the course of a whole season and the winner is selected by votes from the clubs in the Premier League. Birmingham City boast the youngest team in the Premier League, but it's also one of the most talented boasting several England youth internationals.

They only lost one league game all season and that was after they picked up the AXA FA Premier League Northern Division championship trophy. They sent shockwaves through football by defeating one of the game's biggest teams to reach the Premier League Cup Final and they did it in style, playing attractive football.

The Nationwide International Player Of The Year Award Winner: Katie Chapman (Fulham)

This award was voted for by members of the International football staff who work with all the England Women's and girls teams and it goes to an immensely-talented player who is achieving her potential at just 19 years old. There's not much that Katie Chapman hasn't done in the domestic game. She has 16 caps and 9 goals at Under-18 international level and has captained her country in this age group. She played in a cup final at just 15 and scored the winner in this season's FA Cup Final.

This player has displayed immense talent over the past season, both in playing professionally for her club in midfield and making a name for herself on the international scene in defence and now midfield. She recently enjoyed her first international goal in the 4-1 away victory in Holland. Her club manager said this season that she could walk into any international team in the world, and she's helping to put the England team on the map.

The Sport Relief Award for Special Achievement Winner: Marieanne Spacey (Arsenal)

Lending their name to this award for the first time is the BBC Sport Relief charity. The one big idea behind Sport Relief is uniting the world of sport to raise money for young people here at home and across the world. Children and young people everywhere are leading unimaginably tough lives and Sport Relief is a chance to do something about it. This was voted by a panel of judges including members of the FA Women's Football Committee and media representatives. Marieanne Spacey is one of the biggest names in women's football and she has achieved tremendous success over her playing career.

She represented England 91 times, scoring 28 goals. She has won several honours in the women's domestic game, including a momentus treble in 2001 and was the top scorer for her club this season. Off the field, she is a great ambassador for the game whether it is as a studio guest at England games for Sky Sports or as a co-commentator for the BBC at the Cup Final. Her day-to-day role as a Football Development Officer for Hertfordshire sees her paving the way for future players. She has even found time during her playing career to have her young daughter, Sophie.

The AXA Player Of The Match Award for the FA Cup Final Winner: Mandy Lowe (Doncaster Belles)

This season the BBC decided to show both sides of the FA Cup story by showing live coverage of the AXA FA Women's Cup Final, which was a tremendous success attracting 2.5 million viewers. For the first time during a live football match, members of the public were able to vote for their 'Player of the match' and see the result of their vote instantly on the screen.

Their votes featured as a small graphic on the screen at half time and towards the end of the second half, it changed in vision as the votes came in. Mandy Lowe played a fantastic game and managed to mark Fulham's key player Marianne Pettersen out of the match, even though her side eventually lost 2-1 to Fulham.

The AXA Players' Player Of The Year Award - FA Northern Division Winner: Anne Blackham (Wolves)

The winner has played in every position for her club including goalkeeper and is the team captain. Her team ran the Northern Division winners Birmingham City close, with the championship fight running late into the season. A PE teacher by trade, Anne is well respected by her team-mates and now has the honour of an accolade from the players she competes against every week.

The AXA Players' Player Of The Year Award - FA Southern Division Winner: Marianne Pettersen (Fulham)

Pettersen, a player who commands respect both on the pitch with her technique and off the pitch with her attitude to the game, has already received her fair share of rewards this season. The talented Norwegian impressed her competitors with her forward play, scoring over 70 goals this season in all competitions. Again picking up the award on Marianne's behalf was one of her Fulham team-mates.

The AXA Players' Player Of The Year Award - FA National Division Winner: Marieanne Spacey (Arsenal)

Marieanne is a player who commands great respect both on and off the pitch wherever she goes. A much liked player throughout the National Division, friendships are left in the dressing room when she goes on to the pitch as a true professional trying to win every game she plays in. She's won her fair share of games, and this afternoon she's won the lion's share of the awards.
