The course has been organised specifically for females to attract more women into coaching football and also to provide a less intimidating atmosphere for the female participants involved.

Candidates ideally would be from the Cambridgeshire area, as the course is non-residential, or would otherwise need to stay in the area for three days.

Thanks to bursaries from Active Sports, The Football Foundation, Cambridgeshire FA and Huntingdonshire FA, the course will cost candidates only £20 instead of the usual £80.

The course will take place between 5-17 July and will also incorporate sessions on the Laws of the Game, Basic First Aid and Child Protection.

The course will take place at two venues; the Cambridge FA headquarters on Milton Road and at Cambridge United FC.

The course will be tutored by FA Level 3 qualified coach Kate Turney. Kate is working towards her ‘UEFA B’ license and is a Sports Teacher at Cambridge Regional College. She also currently plays for West Ham Utd Ladies FC.

The Women’s only Level 1 course has been designed as an introduction for female coaches with little experience or knowledge about coaching and is the perfect first step on to The FA coaching ladder.

The course is for females aged 16 years and above, and participants do not need any experience to take part - just an interest in coaching and the motivation to improve their skills and understanding.
