The National Football Museum Hall of Fame will induct Gillian Coultard on 19 October alongside some of the game's greats.
The Hall of Fame was founded in 2002 - in the words of the National Football Museum’s President Sir Bobby Charlton - "to honour those players and managers who have made a lasting and outstanding contribution to English
football”.
Since its 2002 inception, 62 of football’s all-time greats have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. On 19 October this year, a further 10 worthy individuals (seven male players, one female player and two managers) will join their peers and be inducted. Inductees must be 30 years of age or over and have played or managed in England for at least five years.
Individuals are nominated, and then voted for by a Selection Panel. All surviving Hall of Fame Inductees are eligible to be part of the Selection Panel and are invited to vote for the new intake each year. In addition, a founding panel of experts including Sir Trevor Brooking, Jimmy Armfield, Alan Hansen, Jimmy Hill, Mark Lawrenson, and Gordon Taylor cast their votes.
All of the living Inductees have confirmed their intention to attend the awards ceremony at the Liverpool Crowne Plaza Hotel on 19 October. Jackie Milburn and Ron Greenwood will be represented by their sons. The 19 October awards dinner will be hosted by BBC TV presenters Ray Stubbs and Celina Hinchcliffe.
Coultard represented England 119 times and scored 30 goals, whilst at club level, she won two National League titles and six FA Women's Cup finals with Doncaster Rovers Belles.
Her international record means she is the second highest capped player ever in England, behind only former 'keeper Peter Shilton.
Former inductee and panelist, England Head Coach Hope Powell told TheFA.com: "Gillian was a great player, geuninely world class and I was fortunate to play alongside her for England on countless occasions.
"Such recognition of her contribution to the game, which is still ongoing in a coaching capacity is really pleasing, and I hope she has a fantastic evening alongside fellow legends of the game."
