Nicola played in the 3-2 victory against Finland and also came off the bench to feature in the 3-2 defeat against Germany, impressing U21s Heach Coach, Brent Hills.

Nicola has made history by becoming the first Lincoln City Ladies player to be called into the full England women's team. Several Lady Imps players have attended England training camps and played for national youth squads, but Nicola will be the club's first full international.

Speaking to
www.ladyimps.com, first-team boss Rod Wilson said: "I am extremely happy for Nicola. I have told her, on numerous occasions, when she is positive and confident there is not a better 'keeper in the country. We are very lucky to have her."

Lincoln's youth-team keeper Chantelle Swadling has also been called into the England U15 squad.

Nicola is the sister of centre-half Jack Hobbs who became Rafael Benitez's seventh summer signing of 2005 when he signed a three year professional contract on his 17th birthday last August, signing from Lincoln City.

Hobbs played in an experimental central midfield holding role during the 2005/06 season for the reserves and was made captain of the team. He was also a vital part of the victorious FA Youth Cup winning team, and was a rock at the heart of the Reds defence alongside Godwin Antwi.

Jack Hobbs has continued his development this summer while away with the Liverpool first team squad in Switzerland.

After suffering a personal 'nightmare' against Kaiserslautern on Saturday, the highly-rated youngster bounced back in style with a near faultless display in the 2-0 defeat to Grasshoppers in Zurich on Tuesday, meaning the season ahead could be one to toast for the young siblings.
