The camp will be used to gear up preparations ahead of the vital Women's World Cup qualifier against Holland at The Valley on 31 August.

Seven of the players are currently in action at the Nordic U21 Cup in Norway, with Powell set to call up two further players in the next fortnight.

After a spell out of the game as part of her Army training, Euro 2005 goalkeeper Jo Fletcher will get the chance to fight it out with Rachel Brown and Siobhan Chamberlain for the keeper's jersey, whilst Emily Westwood, who had a season decimated by injury last year, is another welcome returnee.

Last August Westwood had just signed for Everton, having been the only player from outside the National Division to be selected for the England Euro 2005 squad.

Then in a league fixture against Arsenal in October, an articular cartilage injury saw her sidelined, and then her rehabilitation was further hampered when she required another operation; a micro-fracture.

"The micro-fracture was effectively a procedure where the cartiliage was drilled to promote growth" Emily told TheFA.com.

"I'd already experienced a long spell out through injury when I damaged my cruciate, so this time I knew what to expect."

A training programme devised by England physio Louise Fawcett and Exercise Scientist Dawn Scott was complemented by the Birmingham based English Institute of Sport, and the road to recovery began.

"It was naturally frustrating being at Everton and England games," said Emily. "But at Everton, Mo and all the girls kept me involved, and I knew I couldn't rush things, as then I'd only send myself back to square one again."

The Toffees have recently embarked on a four match pre-season tour of Canada, and whilst not taking part in any games, Emily has undertaken most of the training. Her call-up to the England training camp therefore came as a pleasant and unexpected shock.

"It's been a while since I've been involved in the England set-up and I can't wait to meet up with everyone after The FA Community Shield.

"At this stage of the season I've got to look to get some competitive football under my belt, and if selected, it would be great to maybe get 10 or 15 minutes against Arsenal at Crewe on 2 August" added Emily.

"I know that it's not going to be easy getting my place back in the England squad, but being at the training camp is a great start. There's a great atmosphere in the camp with two very important games to come against Holland and France and I'd be lying if I said I didn't want my shirt back this season".
