England's international friendly against reigning World and European champions Germany will now take place in Aalen on 25 October.
The fixture was originally to take place in Dresden but due to reconstruction work on the Stadium, the 11,183 capacity Waldstadion, home to third division side VFR Aalen will now play host to The Three Lions.
The stadium had a £8.5million makeover between 1999 and 2001and now also plays host to a number of open air concerts. The stadium record was set in 2003 when a full house watched a League Cup semi-final between VFB Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund.
England last played Germany in September 2003, when two goals from Birgit Prinz and a goal apiece from Renate Lingor and Maren Meinert secured a 4-0 victory in Darmstadt.
The friendly in October will undoubtedly provide The Three Lions with a strong test against Silvia Neid's side and provide Hope Powell's squad with an insight as to just how far they have come in the last three years.
The game will come just a month after both teams conclude their 2007 Women's World Cup qualifying campaigns.
In ten games between the two countries since 1993, the Germans hold a 100% record. In 1997, England hosted the Germans at Preston North End and lost 4-6 in a game that is notable for two of the goalscorers; Hope Powell and Sue Smith.
For fans interested in making the journey to Germany, Aalen is situated at the gate of the Schwabisch Alps and can be reached in 90 minutes by road from Stuttgart airport, whilst the German rail system takes visitors from the airport to Aalen, via Stuttgart's central station.
The town is also twinned with the South Coast town of Christchurch, near Bournemouth.
