Captain Faye White would have been set to win her 50th cap if she had appeared in both games, but injury has forced her to withdraw this morning. Her place will be taken by Bristol Academy's Katie Holtham.

Leanne Hall and Emily Westwood are the only two other absentees from the squad that faced Sweden last June at Euro 2005, with Siobhan Chamberlain retaining her place in the squad despite Jo Fletcher's return to playing with Birmingham City.

With one more home international friendly set to be confirmed in the next ten days, the squad should be raring to go ahead of the World Cup qualifer against France at Ewood Park, at the end of March.

The England U21s will also be meeting this month for a training camp between 13-17 February and include a number of over-age players, with nine of the squad having attended the Senior training camp in La Manga last month.

A new name for many will be striker Jodie Taylor (left) who currently plays her football for Oregon State University.

Jodie played for Tranmere Rovers, making her first team debut at the age of 15 and has featured for England U19s, before heading to the States where she is studying Psychology.

Already ranking 10th on The Beavers' all-time goal scoring list, her coach says of Jodie: "Jodie just knows how to play the game. She has a nose for the goal and has tremendous pace and technical ability with the ball.

"She’s going to be a marked player this year, and obviously teams are going to look to single her out for special attention, but she has the mentality and the ability to be very successful."
