Seaman backs Euro bid

Former England international goalkeeper, David Seaman, is urging football fans from South Yorkshire to get behind the England Women’s team when they take on Norway at Barnsley FC’s Oakwell Stadium this Friday 6 May, kick off 7.45pm.
The international match, in partnership with Nationwide, sees Hope Powell’s squad playing its penultimate game before the start of the 2005 UEFA European Women’s Championship, in which Norway will also compete.
David Seaman, said: “Being a South Yorkshireman myself, I know just what a football hotbed the region is and it’s not very often people get the opportunity to watch an international on their doorstep.
“I know from experience what a boost it can be playing in front of local supporters and urge as many people as possible to get themselves to the match this Friday. I’m sure it will be a cracking game!”
