In the 55th minute Northamptonshire's Michael Parkes rose above the defence to power a header goal-wards only for Gary Wright to clear off the line, the clearance went straight to Paul Norton who shot went well wide when well placed.
The home side finally equalised when trickery by Stephen Millar forced a corner, from which James Feasey of Roade FC headed into the net.
Against the run of play, Central Midlands won the game two minutes before the final whistle when, after a mix up in the Combination defence, Adam Lillie of Graham Street Prims FC pounced to fire home from the edge of the box.
In the other NLS Cup match on Wednesday, Kent County League defeated the Sussex County League (Div 3) 4-1 at East Grinstead FC.
The draw for the Second Round will be here after 4.00pm on Tuesday 27 September 2005.
