First Round Qualifying

Kettering Town racked-up an amazing 21-0 win as they brushed aside Daventry with ease to take their place in the next round of The FA Youth Cup.
The youth team were in destructive mood and this result will be sure to generate more interest as their campaign will continue with a home draw against Rushden & Diamonds in the Second Round Qualifying.
Mike Chase, the Kettering Youth Secretary, was modest in response to the victory. He mentioned the importance of preparation of the two sides and the levels they are playing at.
"Daventry are new to the Youth Cup and we're certainly not going to gloat about this result," he said. "Their team was virtually an under-16 side while our players have had significantly more experience.
"It's two teams from two totally different levels at the moment. I have no doubt that Daventry will return next time and will be improving year after year. Our boys train three times a week and it obviously showed on the night."
Chase paid tribute to all at Daventry and believe such teams are important in youth football.
He added: "We want to encourage teams like Daventry, who were very friendly and we enjoyed meeting them. We wish them all the best as they continue to develop as a football club."
In a night of goals galore in the Youth Cup, Cambridge came out on top of an 11-goal thriller with an 8-3 victory over Wroxham. Oxford United eased through to the next round with a 5-0 win away to Carterton while Tooting & Mitcham United thrashed Horsham 7-0.
Elsewhere, there were some closer matches and notable early exits. AFC Wimbledon needed extra-time to defeat Dulwich Hamlet 2-1, Alvechurch are celebrating a good 4-3 win over AFC Telford United while Woodley Sports knocked-out Altrincham 3-2 on penalties after the game finished 1-1.
Manchester United's 23-0 win against Nantwich in the Second Round Proper in 1952 is thought to be the record score in an FA Youth Cup match. Even the great Duncan Edwards found the net. More recently, in 1990, West Ham United swamped Horndean 21-1 in a First Round Proper tie.
