Chelsea’s Academy Manager Paul Clement feels his team have certainly got enough goals in them to lift The FA Youth Cup on Wednesday evening.

After sharing a 1-1 draw with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge in the first leg, it is now finely poised for the decider.

The sequence of results in the Semi-Finals of the competition this year saw the victors emerge following performances on the road, so the Blues are hoping that this trend can continue.

The scoreline was the same ahead of Chelsea’s Semi-Final second leg game with Aston Villa, but Clement’s team put in a tremendous performance to win by 3-2 and seal a place in The Final and a chance of winning the competition for the first time in 47 years.

With the first leg proving to be an open game with plenty of chances for both teams, Clement isn’t anticipating anything to change at the City Of Manchester Stadium.

"The first leg at Stamford Bridge was a good game, certainly if you were a neutral, as it was very attacking with plenty of chances at both ends and it could have gone either way,” he said.

"We’re an attacking team and have scored lots of goals in the run-up to the Final, as have Manchester City. That’s the way we play, so we’re always going to create chances.

"We had a few opportunities in the game and while it was really evenly balanced, we had a couple of good chances late on.”

Clement knows that City won’t prove to be easy opponents though and after emerging from Stamford Bridge with the draw, they will be confident in securing victory in front of their home supporters.

"We know that Manchester City will also have their eyes on victory though and it won’t be easy for us,” he added.

"They have been doing well in their respective league and they have a good pedigree of bringing players through their Academy and into the first team, so we will need to be wary of that.”
