Aston Villa's brightest young prospects will take on Chelsea in Wednesday night's FA Youth Cup Semi-Final second leg, hoping to maintain an impressive record of reaching three Youth Cup finals in the last seven years.

Villa's Academy has produced several outstanding players in recent years, such as Gabriel Agbonlahor and Craig Gardner, but youth coach Tony McAndrew says their superb team ethic is their biggest strength, despite the squad containing several talented individuals.

"I've got a great bunch of young lads with a good team spirit," said McAndrew ahead of the game.

"Don't get me wrong - we have some outstanding individuals - but it's as a group that we are most strong. Each Academy year has its own strength and weaknesses. This group's strength is their great team ethic."

Villa came away from the first leg at Stamford Bridge with a creditable 1-1 draw, but while McAndrew was pleased with the efforts of his young team he is wary of looking too far ahead to a potential final against Manchester City.

"I was delighted with the performance and we're happy to still be in the tie," he added.

"That was our aim before the first leg. Hopefully the lads will perform on the day and that's the most important thing.

"We don't want to look too far ahead. I prefer to look at it as another part of their education as they learn to cope with big games."
