While Chelsea's senior team attempt to keep their Premiership dream alive against Spurs on Wednesday night, the club's young guns will be pursuing their own piece of silverware as they battle it out with Aston Villa in The FA Youth Cup Semi-Final.

After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Chelsea Academy manager Neil Bath believes his side have every reason to be confident ahead of the second meeting at Villa Park.

Bath believes the future is bright for his young heroes and said training alongside Chelsea's first-team superstars can only aid their development.

"It's difficult at this age to predict who will make the step up but we have a good crop of young players at the moment," he said.

"The youngsters train adjacent to the first team and often three or four of the kids are called in to train with them. There is a lot of interaction and that can only benefit them in the future."

Bath was reluctant to pick out any potential match-winners from his ranks and said it would take a team effort to progress to The Final against Manchester City.

"We have a lot of talent throughout the side and it's going to need the whole team to contribute," added the Chelsea Academy manager, who described the exhilarating 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge in the first leg as a 'great advert for youth team football'.

"I thought it was a good game and we're confident going into the second leg," said Bath.

The Blues wasted several good chances during the match and were made to pay, as Villa striker Nathan Delfouneso struck in the second half to give his side the lead.

But super-sub Adam Phillip came off the bench to cause havoc in the Villa defence and the young striker hit an upright with his first chance but buried his next opportunity to leave the tie tantalisingly poised.
