Dean Stamp was the toast of Exeter last night after he earned his side a home tie against Newcastle United in the Third Round of The FA Youth Cup.

Stamp rose high above the Woking defence to head home Jake Wannell's perfectly flighted corner on the hour and see them safely through.

And Exeter's long-serving Youth Development Officer, Mike Radford, dedicated the 1-0 win to their vocal travelling support.

A delighted Radford said: "The draw was made before last night's game and to play Newcastle United at home was one hell of an incentive for both sides.

"The players from both sides gave it their all and it adds a bit more spice knowing the draw beforehand.

"Both teams were trying so hard because they both wanted to win and Woking made it very hard for us.

"We had a load of support from the fans that travelled up for the game. They really made a difference to our players because they cheered us all the way to the end - the fans were fantastic."

Elsewhere, two other ties were also decided last night. In south west London, Yeovil Town pulled off a surprise victory over Brentford.

Tom Clarke scored both goals in their 2-0 win to set them up with a home tie against the competition winners of two years ago, Ipswich Town.

In the second tie Wycombe Wanderers booked a trip to Arsenal with three first-half goals at home to Gravesend & Northfleet.

Lloyd Boateng scored twice inside half an hour before substitute George Daly added a third from Robert Rice's inswinging free kick.
