Reading booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with a thrilling extra-time win at the expense of Everton.A penalty from Scott Davies in the 116th minute proved to be enough to secure victory for the Royals who will play Nottingham Forest in the next round.Pierre Joseph-Dubois and Simon Church also found the net for the Berkshire club whilst Everton's goals arrived courtesy of both England youth international Scott Phelan and John Paul Kissock.Match-winner Davies said: "It's fantastic. This was a big game for all of us. We want to go far in this competition and it's the best night of my life."Brighton will now face Chelsea in the fourth round of the competition after edging past Port Vale 2-1 after extra-time. Defender Sonny Cobbs plundered the winning goal at Bognor's Nyewood Lane in the 120th minute.Vale had taken the lead through Louis Briscoe and appeared to be on the verge of recording a creditable away win until Lloyd Skinner restored parity with just minutes remaining.Burnley coach Terry Pashley was delighted with his side's 3-2 win at Hull City. Despite two goals from Hull midfielder James Bennett, a brace from Cayne Hanley and a late goal from Ali Akbar enabled the Burnley to progress through.Pashley said: "It wasn't the best of games, but we just about deserved the win and did well to come back from behind."We now face Fulham at home in the next round and that will be a big test and a good experience for the lads."Watford stormed past Milton Keynes Dons for the second time in four days with a 5-0 win at the National Hockey Stadium.The Hornets had defeated MK Dons 4-2 in their previous league game and continued to cause problems for the Buckinghamshire side's defence on Tuesday night.Alex Campana struck twice and both Marvin Homan and Kieron Forbes also got on the score-sheet in a one-sided affair.A hat-trick from Jamie Garry ensured that Tranmere brushed aside Wycombe Wanderers with a 5-0 win at the Causeway Stadium.Rovers youngsters Luke Holden and Craig Curran also got in on the act in a display that impressed youth coach Shaun Garnett."They are a hard working team and deserve results like this," he said. "If I'm picky we could have played better, but we were good going forward and strong at the back."
