The wet and windy weather all over the country caused 14 of the weekend's FA Vase Third Round Proper matches to be postponed.

As a consequence, the draw for the Fourth Round Proper, made at Soho Square today, has only produced five clear-cut ties.

Truro City, who currently head the Western League's Premier Division by eleven points, won last season's Vase Final before a record 27,000 crowd at Wembley and their match at Melksham on Saturday survived despite some dreadful conditions in the West Country.

Truro's 3-0 win at The Conigre has now earned the holders a home Fourth Round tie against Bideford or Wimborne Town on 19 January.

Whitley Bay, Vase winners at Villa Park in 2002, also made it through to the last 32 at the weekend. Lee Kerr notched four goals in their 6-0 home success against Flixton and they now welcome Long Bucky from Northamptonshire to Hillheads Park.

Concord Rangers, the Canvey Island side, were also amongst the goals with five coming in the first half as they overwhelmed Newmarket 7-1 at Thames Road. They face Shawbury United from Shropshire, again at home.

Saturday's postponed Third Round ties have been rescheduled for this coming Saturday, 15 December. Fortunately a spell of dry weather is expected during the week.
