More than a thousand fans piled into Truro City's Treyew Road ground to see the Vase holders knock out Western League rivals Bideford in Saturday's Fourth Round tie. The Fifth Round draw, made at Soho Square today, has handed the Cornish outfit another home tie against Whitley Bay.
The Bay, currently lying second in the Northern League, were Vase winners at Villa Park in 2002.
Dunston Federation, ninth in the Northern League, scored four in each half against Shrivenham to register a club record win in the competition at the weekend. They now travel from Gateshead down to Lowestoft Town in Suffolk.
Six Fourth Round ties fell victim to the wet weather, with three postponements confirmed on Friday, and that has resulted in a Fifth Round draw that has just four clear-cut ties.
One match on Saturday that survived a Dorset deluge was Poole Town's clash with Consett. But it wasn't resolved, because the teams were still locked at 1-1 at the end of extra time. The Poole "Dolphins", who once played Everton in The FA Cup, face a long trip up to Durham for Saturday's replay before they can contemplate taking on Merstham or Pickering Town for a place in the quarter-finals.
The Fifth Round is scheduled for 9 February, with winning clubs each picking up £2,000.
