Winning club receives £600

Danny Smy hit four goals as Ipswich Wanderers eased past Long Melford with an impressive 11-0 win to reach the First Round Proper of The FA Vase.

Smy set the tone after just four minutes when he combined with Rene Swann, who went on to score two himself, to open the scoring.

Keith Hetherington also hit a brace with Ricky Martin, Lee Owen and Simon Hyde adding the others to set up a home tie against local rivals Soham Town Rangers.

Wanderers secretary Dennis Miller is confident his side can go all the way in the competition. He said: "It was very pleasing to get through to the next round because we have got serious ambitions in this competition.

"This is good competition for clubs at our level because we have got a chance of winning."

He added: "Danny is new to the club this season. He has played for the youth team before playing elsewhere for a couple of years, so it is good to have him back.

"His main role in the side is as a provider. It is good for him to get on the score sheet."

There were high-scoring matches elsewhere as Chipstead FC set up a tie with Ash United FC following their 8-2 win over Sidlesham FC.

Sutton Town were also on the goal trail with a 9 - 1 win over Barrow Town and will face Brierley & Hagley in the First Round Proper.

A 7 - 2 victory over Dunkirk has earned Market Drayton Town the right to host Quorn on 7 October and West Auckland Town put eight past Willington without reply and will travel to Team Northumbria.
