Last year’s losing finalists will meet the form team of the competition in the fifth round of The FA Vase, in partnership with Carlsberg.
Trevor Senior’s Bridgwater Town will no doubt still be celebrating as they produced the biggest upset of the fourth round to dispose of last season’s champions Winchester City with a stunning 2-0 win.
They now face an intriguing home showdown with AFC Sudbury who will not relish a tie against a team who have won eight consecutive home games.
The runaway Eastern Counties Premier leaders were last years losing finalists and reached the semi finals in 2003. They progressed on Saturday, but were made to battle hard for their 3-2 extra time victory at plucky Quorn.
Enfield, down from The FA Trophy this season managed a narrow 1-0 win over Brislington yesterday. Their reward is a home tie against Bedlington Terriers who had a fine 2-1 win at Bitton at the weekend.
Jarrow Roofing Boldon CA, who reached the third round last season, were rewarded for their 3-0 win over 2000 winners, Deal Town with a home tie against Tipton Town. Tipton are currently flying high at the top of the Midlands League Premier Division.
Didcot Town’s Vase dream was kept alive as they swept aside Ledbury Town 2-0 in the last round. They now face a tough tie against last season’s semi finalists, Colne from the North West Counties Division 1, who disposed of Bodmin on Saturday.
AFC Newbury, currently challenging Winchester for the Wessex League title, and who squeezed to a 1-0 win against Northern Counties East outfit, Thackely travel to Soham Town Rangers who overcame West Allotment Celtic 3-1.
Frome Town dispatched Skelmersdale United 2-0 at the weekend and their reward is a home tie against Ryman League Division 2 side, Brook House who scored twice in the last minute of extra time against Pickering Town to squeeze through.
Bury Town who beat Potton United on Saturday, now entertain Lymington & New Milton who are currently seventh in the Sydenhams Wessex League Division 1. The Blues were knocked out in the third round last season whilst the Linnets went one better and progressed to the fourth.
Backwell United and Lowestoft Town face a replay on Saturday 29 January. The winner of that tie will entertain Travel Factory Midland Alliance side, Stourbridge.
