Terry Brown is urging his AFC Wimbledon side to emulate the exploits of Havant and Waterlooville and etch their name in cup history.
"We are in a lower league to Torquay, but Havant have shown everybody that anything is possible in cup ties," said Brown.
The Dons will be inspired by the story of Dickie Guy, the AFC President who saved Peter Lorimer's penalty as non-League Wimbledon earned a replay against reigning top flight champions Leeds United in their heroic FA Cup run of 1975.
Both sides are having excellent seasons in their respective leagues; AFC are third in the Ryman League Premier while Torquay are six points off top spot in the Conference Premier with games in hand over leaders Aldershot.
Seagulls manager Paul Buckle allayed fears defender Kevin Nicholson would miss the clash, after suffering an unlucky thirteen stitches in a head wound in the Second Round victory against Newport.
"Kev has been working hard with our physio and he should be fit for the match. We didn't want to risk any infection," said Buckle.
Buckle (left) also believes the tie with AFC Wimbledon will be a hard-fought contest and added: "It is a good draw, both teams will bring a good set of fans to the game and there will be a terrific atmosphere."
Wimbledon manager Brown thinks that despite the dip in form, his side can still look forward to the Third Round clash on Saturday.
"Form goes out the window in the cup and the boys are really looking forward to it," he said.
