Hereford United famously knocked Newcastle out of the FA Cup in 1972 and the Newcastle-born manager is looking for payback.

"There’s no doubt, this is a tough tie for us, but it’s going to be exciting," he said.

"Hereford are three leagues above us, they are a good, strong side, with a lot of good individual players and we shouldn’t really have a chance against them."

But Chambers believes he may have spotted one or two weaknesses in the opposition and is pleased to have home advantage.

"I’ve been to watch them play and know a little bit about them now. Certainly there are a couple of things we’ll be looking to exploit on the day."

Eastwood Town sit just outside the play-offs in the Northern Premier League Division One and had a disappointing 3-1 defeat against resurgent Chorley in their last home game.

But Chambers remains positive despite that setback.

"The lads are playing well at the moment and a big plus is that we’ll be close to full strength. I think it’ll be a case of getting stuck in on the day. If we try and play them at their own game, we’ll lose for sure".

Eastwood Town are the lowest ranked team left in the tournament after moving up from The FA Vase last season.

They progressed through to the fifth round after beating Conference South outfit, Hayes 1-0 in the last round whilst Hereford eased through after a 3-0 victory over Hyde United.

Another of the minnows – Isthmian Premier side Slough Town - produced one of the shocks of the fourth round when they edged out Thurrock 1-0. They will be looking to build on their impressive run as they travel to Gravesend & Northfleet.

Southern League Premier Stamford, will have their mettle tested as they entertain FA Cup heroes, Exeter City. The Conference National side are currently lying 9th in the league.

Another Conference outfit, Burton Albion, inspired by manager Nigel Clough, produced one of the best performances of the fourth round when they knocked out last season’s winners Hednesford Town, 2-0.

Their reward is a home tie against league rivals, Morecambe who overcame Lancaster City 2-1 to earn their fifth round place.

Conference play-off challengers Carlisle United will no doubt still be flying high after their 4-1 demolition of Barnet in the last round.

But they now face a tough tie at Woking in arguably the clash of the round.

Last season’s finalists, Canvey Island will look to continue their impressive Trophy run as they entertain Bishop’s Stortford from the Conference South.

Conference North side Altrincham will be glad of home advantage as they entertain Grays Athletic who have opened up an impressive 13 point lead at the top of the Conference South.

#In-form Conference South outfit, Cambridge City have a home tie against Hucknall Town from the Conference North.

This season’s final is to be held on 22 May 2005 at Villa Park. The FA Trophy is then due to return to it’s ‘spiritual home’ of Wembley in 2006.

It will be the fifth consecutive season that Villa Park has staged the final.
