Wayne Rooney is relishing the chance to play in the first FA Cup Final at the new Wembley after the England striker stole the headlines once again with two goals in their 4-1 victory over Watford at Villa Park.
Rooney was outstanding in the United attack and showed once again why he is rated as one of the best strikers in the world.
The United striker is now looking to put behind him the disappointment of his last cup final appearance against Arsenal back in 2005.
Despite creating a number of chances Manchester United lost the game 5-4 on penalties and Rooney says he would love to end the season by lifting the trophy at the new national stadium.
Rooney knows his side will be making history playing in the first cup final and cannot wait for the showpiece even to take place on May 19.
Rooney said: "The defeat in the Cup Final against Arsenal was very disappointing. We dominated the game but still lost and it was hard to take. Hopefully we can put that right in the final come May.
"It is brilliant that The Final is going to be played at the new Wembley. Growing up as a young boy I always watched the Cup Finals at Wembley and I went there in 1995 to see Everton play. I am delighted to be part of the first Cup Final back there.
"It is always nice to make history and hopefully as a team we can do that. It would be nice to win the first Cup Final there and be even nicer if I could score the winning goal.
"Every game at the moment feels like a Cup Final. We feel we are going to win them all and hopefully we can do well in all the competitions. We are looking to push on and have a strong finish to the season.
"I am doing well at the moment. I have scored a few goals and the team are doing really well. I feel fit and hopefully I can continue scoring and helping the team win games."
