Player of the Round 2007/8

First Round Qualifying

Steve Cook, Clevedon Town
Matthew Harris, Merthyr Tydfil
Adam Mitchell, Selby Town
Jack Pitcher, Gloucester City

It's every player's dream to be at The FA Cup Final and four Non-League stars could fulfill that wish with your votes.

Adam Mitchell, Steve Cook, Matthew Harris and Jack Pitcher have been short-listed by our panel as we begin our search for The FA Cup Player of the First Round Qualifying, run in partnership with E.ON.

The winner will receive a VIP invitation for himself and a guest to this season's FA Cup Final, which will be held at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 17 May.

The Player of the Round will also win £500 worth of football equipment for a local school of their choice from E.ON as well as a trophy.

Our first nomination is Mitchell, of Selby Town. His performance in goal caught the eye of the Daily Telegraph's Ricky George who was impressed with a number of high class saves.

Although Mitchell was on the losing side - Selby went down 6-1 to Gateshead - it could have been double figures but for his efforts in goal.

Radio Five Live's Mark Clemmit has plumped for Clevedon Town striker Cook as his player of the round.

Town dominated their clash with Wimborne Town with Cook scoring all the goals in a 4-0 win.

Our third nomination went to another player who found the net in style on Saturday - Harris of Merthyr Tydfil.

The 18 year old was in majestic form during his side's 4-2 win over Bitton, hitting two 30-yarders before half-time - a display which earned the vote of E.ON's Graham Bartlett.

The fourth and final player you can vote for also hit the goal-trail in his side's win. Gloucester City beat Yate Town 5-1 with Pitcher netting all his side's goals to earn a nomination from David Emery of the Non League Paper.

Fans must decide the overall winner by voting on-line on TheFA.com. Votes must be cast before 9am on Monday 24 September.
