Cardiff City manager Dave Jones described The FA Cup Semi-Final win over Barnsley as one of the proudest moments of his career.

Jones' side beat fellow Championship side Barnsley 1-0 with the only goal coming from Joe Ledley in the ninth minute.

"In The FA Cup, this is the best day of my life," said Jones.

"I have had promotions, and I have been to semi-finals and finals, but never an FA Cup Final. Today, it is a great day for me.

"With all the things that have gone on at our football club this year I think we have repaid the fans here and to see 35,000 here is magnificent.

"This is a great feeling. We worked really hard to get to the Final and I am pleased for everyone involved with the club.

"It was a hard game and I am just delighted that we came out on top.

"I thought my two centre halves were magnificent, because he, (Kayode Odejayi), is the biggest player I have ever seen.

"There were spells in the game when they were on top but we dealt with it very well."

Barnsley manager Simon Davey couldn't hide his disappointment and added: "They scored early and we had 80 minutes to get back in the game, we had chances, but it was not to be.

"I felt all the players deserve credit and I don't think any of them froze on the day and we just fell a bit short at the end."
