Woodley Sports finally found their shooting boots to overcome Brodsworth MW in their FA Cup Preliminary Round replay on Wednesday night.
A headed goal from Russell Headley on the half-hour mark and second-half substitute Danny Queeley's late strike sealed Woodley's passage through after the first meeting had ended goalless.
Woodley club secretary Rod Haslam heaped praise on former Coventry City and Stoke City defender Ally Pickering, who returned to the club in April for a second stint as manager.
"We did well before with Ally and now he seems to be doing it again," Haslam said. "We usually do quite well in this competition and it would be great to do something similar this season."
Having failed to net in the opening game, Woodley were determined to put the opposition to the sword and turn their dominance into goals.
"We squandered a host of chances on Saturday and even though the Brodsworth lone striker worked hard, the result was probably never in doubt," Haslam added.
Woodley Sports will now welcome fellow UniBond North outfit Rossendale United and Haslam is confident of another cup run.
"We know all about them from the league and must be confident. Success in The FA Cup would bring a huge boost financially."
Elsewhere on Wednesday night, there were also away Premilinary Round wins for Whyteleafe and FC Halifax Town, while Flixton were involved in a thrilling game against Bottesford Town before claiming a 7-5 victory inside normal time.
Saffron Walden Town comfortably beat Harefield United 2-0 and Consett also progressed after a terrific 4-1 win over Bishop Auckland.
