Shaftesbury face a long trip to Falmouth Town on Wednesday night for their FA Cup replay after they snatched an 89th minute equaliser to draw the first Extra Preliminary Round tie 2-2.
Chris Woods, secretary of the Dorset club, revealed he tried to stop the replay from going ahead.
He said: "After we scored the late equaliser, I asked Falmouth if they wanted to complete the result on the day so we didn't have to travel. But they said no and now we will have to go there and put a show on."
And manager Andy Ford wants to make sure his squad do not make the 340 mile round trip to Cornwall for nothing.
"It's a long way to go to lose," he admitted. "But we'll use the four hour trip down there to talk about tactics because I think we need to change our formation from the first game.
"I think we've learned a bit and we've got some players coming back for the replay, so hopefully we can get the victory.
"We've got a home tie against Truro to look forward to if we can progress and, even though realistically we are unlikely to beat them, we should get a decent crowd and some more money as they are one of the biggest teams in the competition at this stage."
Elsewhere, Sporting Bengal FC will be looking to rewrite their history books when they face London Colney at Mile End stadium after a 1-1 draw in the first match.
The club became one of the first Asian clubs to appear in The FA Cup when they faced Ware at the same stage of The Cup three years ago.
Sporting Bengal FC formed in 1996 to try and get more Asians involved in football and will be keen to get past the Extra Preliminary Round for the first time in their history.
