After a last minute goal kept Saffron Walden Town alive in this season's FA Cup, Chairman John Butler is keen to make home advantage count against Desborough Town.

Sean Anderson scored in stoppage time as Walden drew 4-4 in a thrilling Extra Preliminary tie at the weekend.

And Butler said: "It was a fantastic game for the neutral, but not from our point view. To score four away from home and not go through is very disappointing."

But Butler paid tribute to his side after they came from 3-1 down to set up the replay at Catons Lane.

"We have shown great character against a team playing at a higher level than us. We are fairly confident we can go through and anything is possible in the cup," he added.

Butler is hoping Walden can shrug off their 'nearly-men' tag ahead of the match. The team almost humbled Hitchin in The FA Cup a few years ago before losing on penalties and they missed out on promotion on the final day of last season.

"We have come to close to great things before but we will keep on pushing. We will attack more and hopefully we'll get a break," Butler said.

Elsewhere in the Extra Preliminary Round replays on Wednesday night, Stowmarket Town manager Louis Newman will return to former club Ipswich Wanderers looking to book a place in the next round after a 2-2 draw at the SEH Sports Ground.
