The tie of The FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round came in Lancashire, as Darwen FC were defeated in an eleven goal thriller to Penrith AFC.

The away side eventually ran out 7-4 winners in a classic game against Darwen, who, back in 1880-81, reached The FA Cup Semi-Final after beating Romford 15-0.

Armthorpe Welfare also recorded a big win as the side from the Northern Counties East Premier Division beat Yorkshire Amateurs 5-0 at home. The team who reached the third qualifying round in 1987 had no problems seeing off their Yorkshire rivals.

Elsewhere Whitley Bay FC beat Northallerton Town 3-1 and Colne FC put four past Daisy Hill FC as they ran out 4-1 winners.

Eight goals were scored at Tring Athletic as the home side beat Berkhamsted Town 5-3.

In the south of the country Eastbourne lost at home 4-2 to Epsom and Ewell, New Milton put five unanswered goals against Amesbury Town and Harrow Hill dispatched Alresford Town 4-1.

Staveley Miners Welfare produced a strong performance to see off Bridgnorth Town 3-1 while Hanewell Town beat Wooltton Blue Cross 3-2.

Roofing Boldon Community Association FC will be in the next round after beating Spennymoor Town 2-1 in Sunderland.

Other notable results include Selby Town's 3-1 away win at Seaham Red Star, Squires Gate win over Biddulph Victoria by the same margin, Wick FC's home loss to Molesey FC 3-0 and Shirebrook Town 's 3-2 win over Causeway United.
