Gillingham Town may use their prize money to secure another babysitter for the next round of The FA Cup after Steve Devlin's hat-trick downed Saltash United in their Extra Preliminary Round replay.

Devlin looked set to miss the game after failing to secure a babysitter for his three children until his team-mates saved the day.

Player-manager Adrian Foster explained: "Steve told us he couldn't afford a babysitter but we all rallied around and managed to stump up the cash. I am glad we did because he was superb."

Foster chipped in with a goal himself as Gillingham triumphed 4-2 to set up an away tie with Bridport in the next round.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Darren Moyes was the hero as Conard United beat Whitton United 7-5 on penalties after a terrific 3-3 draw. Moyes, who used to play for Whitton, saved Leon Parnell's penalty to set up a match with either Stowmarket or Ipswich Wanderers in the Preliminary Round.

Whitton Chairman Phil Pemberton said: "It's never good to lose on penalties but Darren did very well after seeing us again."

Royston Town demolished Wembley 4-0 as Craig Hammond's double and goals from Ryan Lockett and Conor De Lacy delighted the 200-strong crowd.

And Pilkington XXX rewrote their history books after Delton Francis and Paul O'Brien netted in a 2-1 win over Wulfrunians - the first FA Cup win in their history.
