The hosts finished the game with nine men as Bradford ran riot at the Dinnington Resource Centre.
“Half of the players let me down today,” said Toyne. “We appeared better with nine men than we did with a full team.”
“Maybe some of the players thought they were a little bit better than they are and let their mouths do more than their feet.”
The Northern Counties East League Division One side have already had an FA Cup odyssey this year, with Toyne admitting his side have punched dangerously above their weight.
“They are a class above us and I wish them all the best,” Town’s manager said of Bradford PA. “They deserved to win and are a credit to their league.
“But with football, as with life, you learn more about people in adversity than when things are going well. I want to see how my players bounce back from this defeat. That will be the real test.”
Toyne concluded: “As long as the players have learned from today, then it has not all been in vain.”
Elsewhere, Workington hit five without reply past hosts Stalybridge Celtic to advance in comprehensive fashion.
Eastleigh booked their place in the First Round Proper with a five-goal haul at home to Clevedon Town at the Silverlake Stadium.
Fleet Town’s FA Cup adventure came to an end with defeat at Havant, and Waterlooville - Andy Sinton’s charges - were beaten 2-1 at Westleigh Park.
