It's a great day for everyone and I just hope that we get the result that we want."
A resident at the Theatre of Dreams for just ten weeks Larsson enjoyed immediate adoration from the United faithful, and despite returning to his native Sweden he can't help referrring to United as 'we'.
The affection that was felt for Larsson is clearly mutual as he remains an ardent follower of United's results.
"I watch every United game I can watch, if I can't watch it I make sure I get the result somehow," says Larsson. "I still have a few numbers of players over there who I text and find out the results if I need to."
"I saw the game against Everton and I was just delighted, I came in and it was 1-0 to Everton but they turned the game around so I was thrilled."
Sir Alex Ferguson kept his word in inviting Larsson to the Final as his guest, and Sir Alex is someone that Larsson ranks right up there among the managers he has played under during his career.
"The man is well known all through football, so there is a lot of things you hear before you meet the man, everything I heard is true," Larsson revealed.
"His passion about the game is incredible, he doesn't like losing and he is just a fantastic boss. For me, even though it was only for ten weeks that I worked with him, he is one of the best bosses I have ever heard.
"Sir Alex, Martin O'Neill and Wim Jansen are the three best coaches I have had in my career."
Larsson also believes that the blend of youthful enthusiasm and tremendous experience will carry United through for many years.
"The spirit amongst the players is fantastic and we were together in the experiences wehad," Larsson explained. "I think when it goes against you, you need to be able to trust the players next to you, and at United that was something I felt very strongly.
"I really enjoyed playing for Manchester United, the passing the movement, the players they have are fantastic. The way I play my game, it suits me very well, I play one or two touch with a lot of movement.
"The players that we had in that team, it was just fantastic to play football every game, players like Scholes and Carrick in midfield see passes very early and that helps my runs."
It's a spirit of adventure and passionate creation that Larsson hopes drives United forward. "
"It's an important day not only for the fans but everyone involved in the clubs, so it's a great day and I just hope that we get the result that we want. I hope we win, obviously."
