The Metropolitan Police and The FA are advising supporters attending The FA Cup Final to use public transport and arrive early or risk missing kick-off at the match on Saturday.

This is the first time that 90,000 fans will have travelled to Wembley Stadium in seven years and The FA are encouraging supporters arrive in plenty of time to enjoy the pre-match activity and avoid delays entering the stadium. Therefore, the turnstiles will open at midday and the official opening ceremony starts at 1.30pm.

After several successful ramp-up events, The FA and Wembley are now launching a 'public transport destination' campaign to discourage fans from driving to North West London.

All supporters are being asked to consult www.wembleystadium.com for recommended routes from all over England. The Wembley hotline 0845 6000 555 has also been set up to provide up to date travel news. All phone charges are at local rates.

Manchester United fans travelling from Manchester Piccadilly train station to London Euston can use bus, tube and train lines to continue their route to the stadium. Bus route 18, Victoria [tube] Line and Siverlink overground are just three options available - click here for details.

New FA Partners National Express Group are also providing 13 dedicated coach links from 43 major towns and cities to help English supporters on their journey to the new national stadium.

FA chief executive Brian Barwick said: "Saturday promises to be a very special day. However, it has become clear after our ramp-up events that supporters should use public transport when travelling to Wembley."
