Tom Poole's penalty six minutes into stoppage time kept Tiptree United's FA Cup dream alive after a 2-2 draw at home to Sawbridgeworth Town.

Poole was the coolest man at Chapel Road as he stood up to smash the ball home from 12 yards to set-up a replay on Tuesday evening.

It was a dramatic ending to a pulsating contest with Greg Hughes' second half strike looking to have put Sawbridgeworth through to the next stage.

But Tiptree's late pressure finally prevailed, with manager Colin Wallington praising his side's determination.

He said: "I thought we deserved to win. We certainly merited a replay and it will be an interesting game on Tuesday. We'll have to play a lot better and I can assure you we will.

The hosts had taken the lead through Jamie Arlick's third minute strike before Kevin Moore equalised soon after.

Sawbridgeworth manager Richard Branchflower believes neither side did enough to warrant victory on the day.

He said: "The football at this level is fast and physical and whoever bites harder normally wins. I think a 2-2 draw was a fair result and we're looking forward to the replay."
