A Kevin Phillips goal earned West Bromwich Albion an FA Cup Fifth Round replay with Middlesbrough after an impressive performance from the Championship team at the Riverside.
The Premiership side took the lead on 28 minutes when Julian Arca headed home a Stewart Downing cross from six yards.
But West Bromwich looked threatening - and duly got their reward on 40 minutes when Diomansy Kamara seemed to have been pushed too far right after a Jason Koumas pass, but then saw his shot somehow squeeze under Mark Schwarzer.
However, Boro took just two minutes to regain the lead, when Curtis Davies tugged Ayegbeni Yakubu in the box. Davies was booked and Yakubu stepped up to fire the penalty into the bottom-right corner of the net.
After the break, West Brom pushed hard and equalized again on 58 minutes when Paul Robinson charged down the left and found Kevin Phillips. The former Sunderland striker’s shot took a wicked deflection past Schwarzer.
Davies was sent off in the final minutes for a second bookable offence, but West Brom still managed to hold on for a replay at The Hawthorns.
Damien Francis secured Watford’s passage into the last eight with an 88th minute strike against ten-man Ipswich Town.
After an even first period, the turning point of the game came with the sending off of Ipswich’s George O’Callaghan in first-half injury time after he retaliated following an aerial challenge with Danny Shittu.
Both sides had clear second-half chances, with Matt Richards clearing a goal-bound header from Watford’s Jay De Merit, and Dan Harding hitting the bar for the Tractor Boys.
But, just as Ipswich looked set to steal a win, Damien Francis latched on to a Tommy Smith cross from the left to fire the Premiership side into the Quarter-Finals.
Premiership champions Chelsea were too strong for a dogged Norwich City, who were blown away in the second half at Stamford Bridge.
The Canaries started strongly, with Simon Lappin hitting the post from 25 yards after 18 minutes, but the home side found an extra gear and Shaun Wright-Phillips broke the deadlock on 38 minutes, scoring from 20 yards out.
The Blues dominated the second period, with a neat finish from Didier Drogba and late goals from Michael Essien and Andriy Shevchenko sealing an easy win.
