Bolton Wanderers 1-3aet Arsenal

In a classic Cup tie that swung back and forth, Arsenal showed their class to see off a determined Bolton Wanderers.

FA Chief Executive Brian Barwick has hailed a classic week of FA Cup action after three high-scoring Fourth Round replays, with viewing figures in Wednesday night's replay at the Reebok peaking at 7.4 million.

On Tuesday night Norwich City edged out Blackpool 3-2 after extra time and Middlesbrough sneaked past Bristol City in a penalty shoot-out after the sides were level at 2-2. Last night, 120 minutes of gripping football at the Reebok Stadium saw Arsenal run out 3-1 winners against Bolton Wanderers.

Barwick told TheFA.com: "This week's three replays have been absolutely compelling entertainment, with all the ingredients of classic FA Cup ties. We had plenty of goals, end-to-end attacking football, penalty drama and Bristol City coming within a whisker of winning at a Premiership ground.

"You couldn't take your eyes off any of the games. They encapsulated the excitement of knock-out football that is so special to The FA Cup."

The Fifth Round of The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON will be played this weekend.
