Paul Simpson was thrilled with an FA Cup draw that pits him against former club Manchester City. The Preston manager started his career with City and spent five years at Maine Road.

But he will now be trying to knock his old team out of the cup and is hoping home advantage could be the key.

"It was a fantastic draw for us and brings back wonderful memories of my time at Manchester City," Simpson said.

"It will be very tough because they are an established Premiership side. But I am delighted to be at home and if we can maintain the sort of form we have shown at Deepdale then we have a chance of progressing to the next round.

"I am sure Manchester City will come here and give it everything they have got, but so will we."

Billy Davies admitted he was disappointed his high-flying Derby side missed out on a Premiership club in the draw for the Fifth Round of the FA Cup.

The Rams were handed an away trip to Championship rivals Plymouth Argyle, although Davies says that does not make the tie any easier.

"We were hoping for one of the big Premiership teams because an opportunity of that sort of challenge would have been wonderful," he explained.

"But it does not make it easier just because we are playing somebody else. It will be a very tough test against Plymouth.

"We are doing well in the league and we want to keep the winning habit whatever competition we are playing in. We will just take each game as it comes and try to do as well as we can."

Blackpool's Adrian Forbes admits his club's FA Cup Fourth Round replay with Norwich will take on extra significance for the players with Chelsea awaiting in the next round.

And if the League One club is lucky enough to make it to Stamford Bridge, the midfielder believes it will cap off a dream season for the Lancashire club.

Forbes said: "It's an incentive to go to Carrow Road and come away with the win, knowing full well what we've got in the next round.

"I would have thought the Chelsea game will be on TV, and for a club like Blackpool, the revenue will be great. We'll be all guns blazing at Carrow Road.

"For us to be on the same pitch as those players will be massive and probably the only opportunity a lot of our players will ever get in their whole careers.

"From that point of view, everyone will be fighting tooth and nail against Norwich to make sure it's us who go through."
