Macclesfield Town Assistant Manager Ray Mathias says his team's Third Round tie with Chelsea is a massive boost for the League Two club.

Paul Ince's side were rewarded for beating Hartlepool 2-1 in the Second Round by being given an away tie against Premiership champions Chelsea when the Third Round draw was made at Soho Square on Sunday afternoon.

"I am sure the manager, Paul Ince, will be absolutely delighted with the draw," said Mathias.

"It is an absolutely fantastic thing for Macclesfield and the players to be going to Chelsea.

"The players have earned their right to get there and I hope they can do themselves credit.

"This tie will boost morale around the place. This draw is fantastic for the town and everyone associated with this football club."
