Bury striker Dwayne Mattis revealed how manager Chris Casper turned the air blue at half-time to inspire his side to victory in The FA Cup last night.

His side came from behind twice in a seven-goal thriller against plucky Weymouth to book themselves a place in the Second Round Proper.

Mattis and Andy Bishop both scored twice to cancel out first- half goals from Simon Downer, Wayne Purser and Steve Tully.

"The gaffer went a bit mad at half-time and told us that we were losing all our battles," Mattis revealed.

"They were on top of us, so we had to up our game in the second half. He wasn't having it and we did it in the second half.

"Weymouth were up for it, it was their cup final and we had to weather that storm in the first half.

"We didn't play too well but in the second half we really got on top of them and imposed our game on them."

Macclesfield Town finally won a game under manager Paul Ince at the fifth time of asking to go through thanks to a late goal from Jimmy McNulty.

The Scottish defender was on hand after Matty McNeil's header came back off the bar to score his first goal for the club.

It was Macclesfield's first win of the season and earns them a home tie against Hartlepool United.

Elsewhere, late goals from Alan Connell and Luke Webb from 25 yards saw Hereford United secure a home tie against Port Vale in the Second Round in front of the biggest crowd of the night.

Farsley Celtic's FA Cup dream came to an end when they lost 2-0 at MK Dons with goals from former England U-21 striker Izale McLeod.

MK Dons now face Blackpool and their colourful manager Martin Allen, who led Brentford all the way to the Fifth Round last season, was full of praise for his young striker.

"I was pleased for Izale, he did very well tonight and it keeps him moving along nicely.

"It'll be a great day and a big crowd for the Blackpool game against a team from a higher league. Magic of The FA Cup, here we go again!"
