Second Round Proper Draw
4.10pm, Sunday 12 November 2006

Sir Trevor Brooking, The FA's Director of Football Development and the host of The FA Cup Draws, is in for a busy seven days of football starting with the First Round Proper where he will be watching Bishop Stortford take on Kings Lynn.

Sir Trevor will be a guest of honour at Woodside Park on Saturday at the tie that caused brief confusion during the First Round draw last month and he is looking forward to a typically vibrant atmosphere as you would expect in The FA Cup.

Sir Trevor said: "I thought the least I could do was attend this particular tie although I know I might get a bit of stick from the King's Lynn fans! This weekend is traditionally a fantastic footballing spectacle and I wish all the teams taking part the very best of luck."

On Sunday Sir Trevor will be conducting the Second Round Draw on Sunday at Soho Square, with live coverage from 4.10pm on both BBC1 and Sky Sports News.

King's Lynn go into the game with an acting managerial duo - Shaun Carey and Dean West - after former Hammer Tommy Taylor left at the weekend to take up the position as Assistant Coach at Peterborough United.

Bishop's Stortford are managed by Martin Hayes, a former Arsenal and Celtic player. The club most famously held Middlesbrough to a draw and replay in the 1980's when England Learning Disability Manager Lyndon Lynch got on the scoresheet for the non-league side.

This season, The FA Cup prize fund will distribute almost £10million to clubs. The 40 winners this weekend receive £16,000 with the four clubs in televised action each receiving £75,000 irrespective of result; Weymouth, Walsall, Bury and Macclesfield Town. FA chief executive Brian Barwick will attend Weymouth v Bury on the Sunday.

Brooking will conduct the Second Round Draw with cricket legends Mike Gatting and Graham Gooch before flying to Holland on Monday to then watch the England Under-21s and senior men's team in international action.

Each round will see sports stars of different disciplines pick out the balls. Boxers Amir Khan and Ricky Hatton are poised to do the Third Round whilst England Women's Football Team Coach Hope Powell and captain Faye White will do the honours for the Fourth Round in January. All these sportsmen and women have provided their services for no fee.
