Dave Pace conceded that his Droylsden side were completely outclassed by Kidderminster Harriers as the curtain came down on the club’s FA Cup run after a 5-1 defeat at Aggborough.
Droylsden boss Pace said: “We were battered from start to finish – both mentally and physically.”
Droylsden’s fate was sealed after an error-ridden two minute spell with Kidderminster scoring three times – leaving the visitors with a mountain to climb.
After an evenly-contested start, Kidderminster edged ahead through Iyseden Christie when the striker lobbed Droylsden keeper Paul Phillips.
Direct from the re-start, Kidderminster surged forward again with Andy White knocking in a second from close range.
Two minutes later it was game over for the away side when White turned provider for Craig Nelthorpe sweeping the ball in.
Droylsden’s first serious attack culminated in Jody Banim testing Kidderminster keeper Scott Bevan with a shot.
But Kidderminster then broke away on the counter-attack and Simon Russell’s run led to White’s second goal of the afternoon to give the hosts an untouchable lead.
Droylsden’s miserable afternoon got even worse when defender Carl Ruffer was red-carded after two bookable offences.
Harriers’ Russell Pen then scored a fifth goal before Droylsden snatched a consolation effort when Steve Jagielka steered Chris Denham’s cross into the net.
