The FA Cup sponsored by E.ONExtra Preliminary Round ReplaysWednesday 23 August 2006Winning club receives £500Eton Manor ended half a century of FA Cup heartache on Wednesday night when they beat St Margaretsbury on penalties in their Extra Preliminary Round replay.Jamie Wallace was the penalty hero for Essex-based club who had not won a game in the Cup since 1957.The tense tie ended 1-1 after extra-time to set up an even more nerve-jangling climax for the small but involved crowd.St Margaretsbury took the lead in the first half but Chido Ukalgwe equalised for the home side in the second period.Despite pressurising the visitors' area in extra-time the home side could not break through to prevent penalties.The Manor won the shoot-out 4-2 and go thorough to play Wingate & Finchley in the next round at Chadfield.Home advantage was key in all five replays played on Tuesday night - with the away team losing each and every one of them.A hat-trick from Ben Riches helped FC Saffron Walden Town thrash Cogenhoe United 6- 2 at home and they now face Harlow Town away in the next round on 2 September.A tie of two interestingly named teams as Norton & Stockton Ancients hit top form to win 6-1 against West Allotment Celtic and book a home tie with Darwen FC in the next round.Thornaby scraped past Ashington 3-2 in another home replay win to progress to the Preliminary Round where they will host Durham club Chester-Le-Street Town.Stay with TheFA.com - the home of The FA Cup.
