Ahead of Saturday's FA Cup Final we reveal the lineup of The FA Cup 'Team of Heroes' as voted for by you the fans. The competition began to commemorate the incredible contribution of the players in 125 years - and after more than 10,000 votes we have our team.
Our search began in earnest in December and gave the top 125 ranked FA Cup clubs their chance to nominate their five Cup legends - one keeper, one defender, one midfielder, one forward and a manager
From the nominations our panel of specialists narrowed them down to a shortlist of 125 - with 25 for each position. We then put it down to you, the fans.
You voted for your own Team of Heroes from our final list in a 4-3-3 formation and now it is time for all those who voted to find out if their choice matches that of the the overall poll.
Stuart Pearce may not have an FA Cup winners' medal to his name, but that should not overshadow the huge contribution he made to the competition.
The no-nonsense defender made two FA Cup Final appearances as a player for both Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, but was unfortunate to end up on the losing side both times.
The most agonising of these two defeats came in 1991 when he led Forest out as skipper against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley after scoring in the crushing 4-0 semi-final win over West Ham.
It was Pearce who opened the scoring in The Final with one of his trademark free-kicks after 15 minutes, and when Spurs' star player Paul Gascoigne left the field injured, the man nicknamed 'Psycho' looked set to lift the Cup.
But heartbreak struck that afternoon as Spurs rallied with an equaliser from Paul Stewart and an injury-time own goal from Forest hero Des Walker which ultimately denied Pearce his FA Cup glory.
He then had to wait seven years for another opportunity to play in The Cup Final, and at 36 he could have been excused for thinking he had lost his chance.
But he was taken to Newcastle by Kenny Dalglish on a free transfer in 1997 and was in the team that reached that year's FA Cup Final to face a double-chasing Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger's dream-team had just overturned a 12-point deficit to win the Premiership and were unstoppable in the Final, winning 2-0 with goals from Marc Overmars and Nicolas Anelka.
Although that marked Pearce's last chance of FA Cup glory as a player, not too many players get to say they have played in two Finals.
He is now on the trail of Cup glory as a manager at Manchester City, and took them to the Quarter-Finals in his first full season as boss.
No doubt Pearce the manager will be aiming to take his side to the new National Stadium in the near future to finally get his hands on the trophy that has somehow managed to elude him.
Look out for your choice of midfielders tomorrow only on TheFA.com.
