Ahead of Saturday's FA Cup Final we reveal the lineup of The FA Cup 'Team of Heroes' as voted for by you the fans. The competition began to commemorate the incredible contribution of the players in 125 years - and after more than 10,000 votes we have our team.

Gary Lineker enjoyed more memorable FA Cup experiences than many players in English football can claim to have had in their entire career.

He featured in a variety of moments that encapsulate the drama, heartbreak and glory of what the competition is all about.

Early in his career, with Leicester in 1980, Lineker found out about the pitfalls of FA Cup football for top teams when the Foxes suffered a classic giant-killing at the hands of non-League Harlow.

But as Lineker progressed through the decade into one of England's finest ever strikers, he was to experience the brighter side of football's greatest cup competition.

It was undoubtedly a privilege for him to be involved in the first ever all-Merseyside Final in 1986 between his new side Everton and all-conquering Liverpool.

Things got even sweeter for Lineker when he opened the scoring at Wembley, although he ultimately finished on the losing side as the Toffees slipped to a 3-1 defeat.

After a successful three-year spell with Barcelona, Lineker returned to England in 1989 to join a club with a great FA Cup tradition - Tottenham Hotspur.

It was here that he was soon to re-ignite his love affair with the competition as Spurs reached the Cup Final in 1991 after a fascinating run.

The highlight for Lineker was when he scored twice in a 3-1 win against Tottenham's great north London rivals Arsenal - the first ever Semi-Final held at Wembley.

Although he then become only the second ever player to miss a penalty in an FA Cup Final, his day finally ended in glory as the England star finally got his hands on the trophy that had eluded him - as Spurs beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 after extra-time.
