Nigel Reo-Coker was downbeat after West Ham lost the 125th FA Cup final to Liverpool on penalties.
The West Ham captain put in a sterling performance but could not help his side from slumping to defeat against Liverpool.
Reo-Coker, who has been placed on Sven-Goran Eriksson's stand-by list for World Cup finals this summer, said he was deeply disappointed not to have won after taking a 2-0 lead.
He said: "It is hard to describe how I feel. I am very disappointed not to have won today because I felt we deserved to.
"I could not ask any more from my players - we gave it our all. It was just a marvellous Cup Final and respect goes to our fans, who were brilliant."
