Fourth Round Qualifying
Saturday 22 October 2005
Winning clubs receive £10,000

Five star players from the Fourth Round Qualifying are in the race for FA Cup glory after experts nominated them for The FA Cup ‘Player of the Round’ award, in partnership with UMBRO.

From now until the end of the season, we're also offering voters the chance to win two tickets to the match of their choice in the next round.

The much-deserved nominations from 4Q include defender Stuart Tuck of Eastbourne Borough, ‘keeper Danny McDonnell of Worcester City, Harrogate Town’s Captain Paul Stoneman, Woking’s Steve Ferguson and Chasetown’s Lee Bullimore.

Eastbourne Borough has reached The FA Cup First Round Proper for the first time in its history after defender Stuart Tuck marshalled Borough’s defence to ensure they kept their 1–0 lead over Bishop's Cleeve. Now the only non-league FA Cup survivor from Sussex, Eastbourne Borough’s 1–0 victory has earned a hotly anticipated home tie against league side Oxford United.

Super ‘keeper Danny McDonnell made a series of crucial saves to see Worcester City pull off a 1-1 draw against Accrington Stanley.

Paul Stoneman inspired his Harrogate Town team mates to a giant killing 1-0 victory over Scarborough and earned the side an away tie against League 2 outfit Torquay United in The FA Cup First Round Proper.

Woking’s Steve Ferguson scored a fantastic solo goal as well as setting up the first goal to take Woking through to the First Round Proper, whilst Chasetown’s Lee Bullimore scored a crucial goal and was 'head and shoulders' man of the match in the 2-2 away draw at Blyth Spartans.

The Staffordshire side now have a replay on Tuesday evening, with the carrot, a home tie against League One side Oldham Athletic.

Fans can vote for the player they want to see win the award in our poll on the homepage of TheFA.com before the deadline of 9.00am on Monday 31 October.

Those who vote can also submit their details here to win two tickets to the First Round proper match of their choice.

The player with the most votes will be crowned FA Cup ‘Player of the Round’ and will win £1000 worth of UMBRO football kit for a local school, club or organisation. He will also receive an engraved silver salver.

A team of panellists nominates players for the award. The panellists include Radio 5 Live’s Mark Clemmit, The Daily Telegraph’s Ricky George, Sky Sports’ Jeff Stelling, David Watters, news editor of The Non League Paper and FA Chief Executive Brian Barwick, in conjunction with FA personnel attending FA Cup matches.

The winner will be the fourth player to join The Team of The FA Cup, guaranteeing him VIP attendance at the 125th FA Cup final at the new Wembley stadium on 13 May 2006.

The Team of The FA Cup will comprise Player of the Round winners from the First Qualifying Round to the Semi Final. Gosport Borough’s Jamie Laidlaw, Northwich Victoria’s Paul Brayson and Leamington’s Alex Rodman are already in this season’s Team of The FA Cup.
