However, today's announcement regarding the award winner had to be delayed due to over 100,000 rogue votes coming in from some techno-bods trying to manipulate the system.

But TheFA.com was on to them early, and despite their attempts to duplicate votes using automated computer scripts, we've tracked the culprits and disregarded their votes.

Whilst we do not condone this type of skullduggery, it shows how the magic of The FA Cup has led to some fans going to extraordinary lengths to try and secure victory for the player they support - but, unfortunately for them, to no avail.

Having now deleted all the duplicate votes, we are pleased to confirm that, from 31,000 legitimate votes registered, the winner of The FA Cup Third Qualifying Round Player of The Round, in partnership with UMBRO, is Leamington’s Alex Rodman who polled 37%.

teenage midfielder is now guaranteed a VIP seat at The FA Cup final next May and also collects £1000 worth of UMBRO football kit for a local school, club or organisation of his choice.

“The award gives Alex and everyone at the club a massive boost and we thank the many thousands of fans who voted for him," said Leamington secretary Brian Knibb.

"We fancy our chances this weekend against Ossett and Alex’s success will put everyone in the right frame of mind.”

Runner-up was Cambridge City’s Mark Booth with 30% and Basingstoke’s Mark Peters polled 19%.

Ossett Town’s James Walshaw and Vauxhall Motors’ Peter Cumiskey received seven per cent of the vote each.

3Q winner Rodman joins Gosport Borough’s Jamie Laidlaw and Northwich Victoria’s Paul Brayson, who are already in this season’s Team of The FA Cup, having won the First and Second Qualifying Round Player of the Round awards respectively.

The Team of The FA Cup comprises Player of the Round winners from the First Qualifying Round to the Semi Final. In the last two years several Premiership players have featured in the team alongside non-league players, including Jose Antonio Reyes, Freddie Ljungberg, Shay Given and Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Thank you to all fans who voted legitimately.
