Liverpool striker Ian Rush scores against Everton in the classic 1989 FA Cup Final at Wembley.


We can announce all the entries, exemptions and round dates for the 2005/06 FA Cup.

There will be a record 674 sides in the competition which gets underway on Saturday 20 August 2005. The First Round is on 05 November with the famous Third Round falling on 07 January 2006.

The Sixth Round matches, or quarter-finals, are in the week of 20 March 2006, with the Semi-Finals coming on 22 April 2006.

Last season's competition saw Arsenal defeat Manchester United in the first ever FA Cup Final penalty shoot-out.

The Gunners will be hoping that they can make it through to next season's Final, which will be staged at the new Wembley Stadium.
